A great experience at the Palau de la Música Catalana

Recently, BGB staff had the luck to be invited to the Palau de la Música Catalana to experience a new kind of tour, a closer, more interesting and more intense one.

Until now, visitors took a guided tour where the guide explained the history and decoration of the building in detail along with some anecdotes. They could also hear a piece on the splendid organ.

With the summer season about to start, the Palau wants to go farther and allow visitors to live the Palau as an exceptional experience: The Palau Experience.

The tour started in the main lobby and we were invited to walk solemnly up the marble staircase to the Lluís Millet Hall, or intermission room. Here, several guides alternated in giving a lively, dynamic talk, pointing out the myriad details and making us feel like we were back in 1908, the year this emblematic building was inaugurated.

The tour continued through the various rooms till we reached the Concert Hall, culmination of the visit, where our emotions were stretched to the limit. This diaphanous room is filled with natural light which filters through the glass walls of the hall and the enormous tear-shaped skylight and we were suddenly in the middle of a fantasy garden full of plants and flowers, reflections, symbols and intense colours. All these elements joined us on stage where we were surrounded by the sound of the organ and the muses who leaned out from the wall to welcome us and offer us the chance to feel like real performing artists.

We said our farewells on stage with a glass of cava, facing the spectacular hall… without doubt an exceptional experience.

Thank you, Palau.
