More services for tourists in Barcelona despite the crisis
Barcelona Guide Bureau foresees 100% growth in tours sold in 2009 and expects to exceed 20,000 visitors on Smart Daily Tours
As from today, Barcelona Guide Bureau is offering tourists 4 new itineraries to discover the city with a licensed guide. The new services of the company, pioneer (1990) in tourism to Barcelona, double the number of Daily Smart Tours and include a tour dedicated exclusively to FCBarcelona (The Barça Tour), a tour focussed on the new urbanism of the city (The New Architecture Tour), a tour centered around the two World Heritage modernista buildings (Palau de la Música and Hospital de Sant Pau) (Modernisme World Heritage Tour) and a unique tour that takes you to Gaudí’s hidden treasures: the Güell Crypt, the Güell Pavilions and the Gate to the Miralles Estate (Gaudí Beyond the City Tour).
Barcelona Guide Bureau closed the year 2008 with 9,878 visitors in the Smart Daily Tours. The Montserrat Tour was the favourite with 33% of the total, then the Gaudi Tour, with 31%. The Highlights Tour was chosen by 28% of tourists and Montjuïc & Panoramic Tour received 8% of the total.
Regarding the nationality of the visitors, 31% were from the United States of America, 15% from UK, 9% from Australia, 6% from Canada, 5% from Ireland, 3% from Germany, 2% from India and 29% from the rest of the world.
Barcelona Guide Bureau has a team of 25 full-time licensed guides as well as over a hundred more who work when demand is high. As a pioneer company in the tourist sector in Barcelona, since 1990 BGB has made over 130,000 services, showing Barcelona to more than 2 million tourists.
