In the past there were mines. That’s why the toilets and the cafeteria on the upper part of the main square are inside galleries.
Something curious about Sagrada Familia.
There is a numerical relationship between the different parts of the building: the number 15; The side aisles are 15 meters high, the next ones are 30 meters high and the central one is 45 meters high. The domes will be 45 and 60 meters high. The church is 60 meters wide and 90 meters long. There are 15 meters between the pillars in the Santa Mª del Mar church (Gaudí restored the cathedral of Palma de Mallorca, that had been built by the same architect who built Sta Mª, Berenguer de Montagut).

The Mies van der Rohe pavillion it’s a replica of the original one, that was dismantled after the 1929 Exhibition. It’s one of my favourite buildings.

He lived for some years in his youth at 12, Placeta Montcada, very close to the present Picasso Museum.

Three tips to enjoy Barcelona.
- If you came in winter come to Petritxol Street and have a hot chocolate with ensaimada, it’s great.
- If you came in summer take the boat “La golondrina” to visit the seafront.
- At any time go to any restaurant in la Barceloneta to have some fresh fish. You will love it!
