Up on the Montserrat Mountain there is a nearly 1000 year old Benedictine monastery, perched half way up the mountain and sheltered by its peaks. The monastery’s basilica houses the Chapel of Our Lady of Montserrat known as La Moreneta, the patron saint of Catalonia whose presence is strongly felt and revered.
