“Those who remember the Jubilee in Rome will know how spectacularly wrong these plans can go”, he said. “Dialogue between local authorities and the industry are vital; some cities have unnecessarily demonised coach tourism, seeing it as a problem rather than an efficient way of managing groups of visitors. The Sagrada Familia is particularly popular since it was consecrated by the Pope, but experiences at Notre Dame in Paris show that any proposals have to be really thought through. Displacing coaches to dangerously busy roads or forcing older groups to walk far is not a satisfactory outcome, especially as the completion of the church depends on funds from these visitors. On top of this is the broader discussion of how coach groups are received and handled in the city. That is why this working group is so important and we trust that the Ajuntament will engage with it fully.”

Per la present els comuniquem que després de moltes reunions amb els responsables de Turisme i de Mobilitat, també amb la Sra. Sònia Recasens, 2a Tinent d’Alcalde i responsable de l’Àrea de Economia, Empresa i Ocupació del l’Ajuntament, les associacions que vam firmar el Manifest per la Mobilitat dels Autocars a Barcelona, els volem informar de la situació en què ens trobem.

Hem exposat als responsables de l’Ajuntament el nostre punt de vista totalment contrari pel que fa a la nova ordenació del trànsit dels autocars a la zona Sagrada Família.

La nostra proposta d’utilitzar el carrer Sicília pels autocars no s’ha acceptat, ja que l’Ajuntament ha decidit que serà la zona de parada dels Busos Turístic de TMB.

Veiem un cert interès municipal en traspassar tot el transport turístic a TMB, i prohibir que els autocars discrecionals s’acostin a les zones d’interès turístic tal com preveu l’acord que va prendre la Comissió de Mobilitat de l’Ajuntament  el passat 17/11/2011, tal i com se us va informar a la darrera Circular.

Pel que si després de les nombroses gestions i reunions que s’estan mantenint amb l’Ajuntament tals mesures finalment es materialitzen, això representarà que les empreses i treballadors dels operadors turístics de la ciutat es veuran greument afectats i repercutirà negativament, tant pel que fa als resultats de les empreses, com als llocs de treball. De fet, només demanem que ens deixin treballar i considerant l’actual situació econòmica del país, el descens del trànsit a la ciutat en els dos darrers anys, semblaria adient l’Ajuntament ens ajudés una mica més.

Como ya conocen tras el anuncio por parte del Ayuntamiento de Barcelona, el pasado 3 de noviembre de 2011, del nuevo plan de acceso de autocares al entorno de Sagrada Familia, ACAV, APIT, AUDICA, UCAVE y el Grupo de Operadores de Cruceros crearon una plataforma de trabajo conjunta contra tales medidas.

En el seno de dicha Plataforma, entre otras acciones, se procedió a redactar un Manifiesto Pro Movilidad de autocares en Barcelona, al que se han adherido diversas entidades y asociaciones de ámbito nacional e internacional. En concreto se han obtenido las adhesiones de: ABTA, ANETRA, ANVR, CEAVYT, CEFAPIT, Confederació de Comerç de Catalunya, Consell de Gremis, DRF, DRV, ECTAA, ETOA, European Cruise Council, FEG, GEBTA, SNAV y OPC.

Gracias a dicho Manifiesto y al soporte obtenido al mismo, se ha logrado la constitución de la Mesa de Trabajo con el Ayuntamiento de Barcelona para la movilidad de autocares en nuestra ciudad, cuya constitución se venía solicitando por nuestra parte desde que se mantuvo una reunión con la Sra. Sonia Recasens, Segunda Teniente Alcalde del Ayuntamiento, el pasado 7 de diciembre de 2011.

El objeto de la constitución de dicha Mesa de Trabajo es tratar la movilidad de autocares turísticos en Barcelona, habiéndose abordado en primer lugar la problemática de los autocares en la Sagrada Familia. En este sentido, informarles que en la reunión mantenida el pasado 27 de marzo, por parte del Ayuntamiento se informó que la nueva operativa de autocares en la Sagrada Familia entraría en vigor en junio de 2012, continuando actualmente todavía en conversaciones al efecto de conseguir que las nuevas medidas de ordenación del tránsito en el entorno de la Sagrada Familia sean lo menos perjudiciales posibles para el sector turístico.

Igualmente hemos tenido conocimiento del acuerdo adoptado por la Comisión de Seguridad y Movilidad del Ayuntamiento de Barcelona, en la reunión celebrada el pasado 17 de noviembre de 2011, según el cual: “… La Comisión de Seguridad y Movilidad acuerda, en el marco de la ordenación y regulación del estacionamiento de autocares turísticos en Barcelona (ZonaBus), presentar en un plazo de 6 meses un proyecto de creación de nuevos aparcamientos específicos para autocares turísticos que estén correctamente conectados con la red integrada de transporte público, fuera de los centros de interés turístico de nuestra ciudad, que minimicen la circulación de autocares turísticos en estos ámbitos, reduzcan su impacto sobre la movilidad cuotidiana y el espacio público y fomenten la visita de la ciudad con transporte público…”.

Asimismo les informamos que se está organizando una Jornada sobre Movilidad de los autocares de la cual facilitaremos más información en un próximo comunicado.

La plataforma conjunta creada por ACAV, APIT, AUDICA, UCAVE y el Grupo de Operadores de Cruceros seguirá colaborando a través de dicha Mesa de Trabajo al efecto de defender en todo momento los intereses del sector turístico para la movilidad de los autocares en Barcelona.

Nos complace informaros que nuestros “Daily Sightseeing Tours” en inglés cumplen cuatro años en el mercado y después del éxito conseguido, gracias a nuestros colaboradores más cercanos y a todos los clientes que han depositado su confianza en nuestros tours,  hemos decidido seguir ampliado nuestro abanico de tours y ofrecer a los visitantes de habla española la versión en castellano de los “Daily Sightseeing Tours” más vendidos.

En esta primera etapa empezaremos a realizar los siguientes tours en español:

“CONEXIÓN SPAIN VIRTUAL”, a virtual fair for Spanish Tourism in the United States and Canada, has been officially inaugurated this week.

The 2012 Fair incorporates a new version of the platform with enhanced application of 3D technologies and improved performance and usability. Moreover, this year the Fair has featured different phases to promote the support and visibility of destinations and products. In this sense, the Networking Week is open for the five day period of March 12^th to 16^th, and is aimed for both general public and business professionals. Within this time, visitors can interact with exhibitors in real time to resolve doubts and create endless business opportunities.

At the end of the “Networking Week”, the Fair will remain open for the rest of the year until December 31, 2012. Throughout the year, visitors will have access to the stands and the opportunity to share business cards or contact information with a specific vendor. However, at this stage, the visitors will no longer have the option to interact directly with exhibitors.

In addition, several thematic two-day workshops will take place over the course of the year. This virtual room will allow more networking opportunities through interactive webinars, one to one communication and social media integration.

Barcelona Guide Bureau will also participate in this year’s edition. We believe that giving support to this  kind of events favours  the travel industry and can also broaden perspectives that enable business without high expenses.

Since 1876, when Josep Fontserè built the “Mercat del Born” as a  wholesale fruit and vegetable market, and its subsequent closure through disuse following the opening of Mercabarna in the Zona Franca, the market has had to overcome lots of obstacles before reestablishing its place in the Born neighbourhood.They have tried to give this place several uses: University complex, library, auditorium, exhibition hall… but in 2001, during the first renovation, they found remains of the neighborhood Felip V’s armies had bombed  and they had to stop everything. The discovery caused a huge debate that was finally resolved assigning the space to museum space.

The characteristic glass that covered the facade has been replaced or restored, the stairs and the whole roof have been reformed and now they are starting to work on the interior distribution of the different rooms.

The building will be 6.700 squared meters and divided into two different levels. The first one will be underground where you will be able to walk through the 1714’s ruins, equipped with panels with relevant explanations about the route and with glass cabinets with more than 3.000 objects that show how Barcelona’s citizens lived at those times. The second one, at street level ,will have the polyvalent rooms.

They expect to inaugurate the new market in autumn during 2013, coinciding with several major festivities of the Barcelona calendar (La Mercè, 11^th September…)
