St Peter’s Basilica in Rome will host the exhibition “Gaudí: The Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. Art, Science and Spirituality” from 1 April to 15 May 2011.
This interesting exhibition will be housed inside St Peter’s Basilica itself, in the Charlemagne Wing, and access will be free of charge.
The 850 m2 hall will be filled with panels, photos, audiovisuals, models and plans, furniture and liturgical objects designed by the famous architect, helping the visitor understand the relevance of Gaudí’s work both on an artistic and a spiritual level.
In addition, the event will raise awareness of Catalan culture and art along with several side activities such as a dialogue between the President of the Pontifical Council of Culture and the famous Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, and the performance of the Montserrat Boy’s Choir in Rome.
Sagrada Familia, the most outstanding and best known of all Gaudí’s buildings, changes day to day as building continues; it offers its visitors something new each time they come.
The easiest and most comfortable way to discover the Sagrada Familia is with “The Gaudi Tour” which offers fast-track entrance to the Sagrada Familia and a visit to the Park Guell, for just 45 euros. Our expert guide will explain everything you need to understand Gaudí’s awe-inspiring world.
