New tour with BGB. The perfect architecture cocktail!

Are you an architecture lover? Would you like to be a specialist?

Barcelona’s cutting edge industrial and architectural design is reflected in the city itself, making it a reference of design in Spain as well as in Europe. Barcelona´s architecture is the best way of having a look at the evolution of architecture during the 20th century.

BGB now offers a tour for the architecture and design lovers. From the Olympic Port to Palau de la Musica. Let´s discover the route of Barcelona´s Architecture.

We´ll start in the Olympic Port which in winter as well as summer is the place to be to enjoy the sun. Go and discover the amazing fish sculpture, made in copper by the Californian sculptor Franck O. Gehry or the Meteorological Centre by the Portuguese architect Álvaro Siza.

Not far away is the Forum, an original building by the Swiss architects, Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron. It is a large, navy blue triangle, the roof of which is covered with a layer of water to shield against the sun, reflecting its rays and minimizing heat absorption.

To continue, we will guide you to the 22@. This project has transformed 200 hectares of old industrial land in Poble Nou into an innovative productive district which offers modern spaces for the strategic concentration of several Knowledge activities. Torre Agbar is a work of the French architect Jean Nouvel, inaugurated in 2005, and the building represents a geyser bubbling out of the ground.

To finish the tour let´s discover Palau de la Musica. The guided tour will explain the symbolism in the decoration of this emblematic building owned by Orfeo Català, the Catalan Choral Society. Renovated in 1989 and 2004, the Palau combines the charm of its Modernista heritage with ultra modern services and facilities including an expanding stage which can cover the first three rows of seats when needed.
