Oprah Winfrey visits Barcelona with BGB

Last month Oprah Winfrey started a cruise in the Mediterranean around some European countries, starting in Barcelona, to celebrate her 55^th birthday. Over 1.723 celebrities have been invited on this cruise with the Norwegian Gem Company visiting the major cities of the Mediterranean.

Oprah started the trip the 23rd of June in Barcelona, where the passengers joined Barcelona Guide Bureau to visit the most important places in the city. Oprah and her guests also had a special dinner in Poble Espanyol, closed specially for them, before they continued the trip. On the 5^th of July, the cruise will come back to Barcelona for the final stop of the holidays.

Oprah is considered to be one of the richest and most powerful personalities in the USA. The Forbes magazine has ranked her number one among the world celebrities on several occasions (last year, she was pushed down to second place by Angelina Jolie). The TV personality runs the popular talk show The Oprah Winfrey Show which made her famous all over the world. She was also nominated for an Oscar for the co-starring role in The Purple Color by Steven Spielberg; she edits two magazines and a radio show with her name; and has recently wrote a book with huge success in the States. Oprah is a public spokesman of the Democratic Party and in the latest elections she openly supported Barack Obama in his campaign.
