It might seem madness to travel in one day from Galicia to Andalusia and from Aragon to Extremadura. But that’s just what you can do at the
Poble Espanyol, crisscrossing Spain without leaving its grounds.
On your visit you can see 117 buildings of Spanish traditional architecture from round the country and walk along the streets and squares of the towns where they are located. The interest of this emblematic attraction, built on the occasion of the International Exhibition of 1929, does not lie in its buildings alone, however: there are countless other things to see and do here.
Poble Espanyol gives you the chance to see the works of such masters as Picasso, Tàpies, Miró and Barceló at the Fran Daurel Foundation for Contemporary Art or stroll through its Sculpture Garden, which forms a fusion of nature and art with splendid panoramic views of the city of Barcelona.
You can also enjoy a broad offering of Catalan gastronomy in its restaurants, and interesting family activities are held here all year round. But if you want something special by which to remember your visit to Barcelona, the Poble Espanyol has dozens of shops and crafts workshops where you can purchase unique items bearing their creators’ seal of authenticity.
