Red Bull Air World Race, this week end in Barcelona

This week end, Barcelona hosts the Red Bull Air Race World Championship. It is a spectacular show and we guarantee you that it with be a thrilling and exciting experience!

Since 2003, Red Bull have organised this Air Race in which pilots have to navigate a challenging course with obstacles in the fastest time. The pilots fly individually against the clock and have to fly tight turns through a slalom course consisting of pylons, called “Air Gates”. Known as the Formula 1 of the air, the aircrafts are flying at 400km/h and the show is a cocktail of acrobatics.

In May 2006, 1.300.000 spectators gathered on the beaches of Barcelona to see this amazing show. It all starts at 12.45 am on Saturday and continues on Sunday beginning at the same time. The final is on Sunday at 5 pm. The Red Bull Air Race is one of several activities included in the Festa al Cel 2009 which the Barcelona city council organizes.
