Sonar’09: the music and digital art festival of Barcelona

Get ready for Sonar ‘09, the music and digital art festival of Barcelona. From 18th to 20th of June over 300 activities related to modern culture will take place in the heart of the city. The novelty of this year is the addition of Sonar Kids, on Sunday 21st, where famous Spanish and international musicians will interact with the children so they can learn music and arts in a way they have never experienced before!

Barcelona will be the Mecca for all electronic music lovers, with a selection of DJs, VJs and shows, and where people from all over the world can enjoy the artists at concerts, showcases and interactive exhibitions. In the last editions of the festival over 80.000 people visited the 24 hour activities. This year Sonar has also open it’s doors to other cities. In Washington, London and New York has been the Taste of Sonar, a preview of some of the artists who will be present at Sónar 2009 in Barcelona

This year Sonar Day is at the MACBA Museum and CCCB in an open space where you can enjoy the nice weather during the shows. For clubbing, the Fira Barcelona is the place to be if you want to see the major artists of the dance scene: Jeff Mills, Animal Collective and the local Angel Molina will be playing on Friday and Saturday night.
