Sónar Kids: the electronic funfair of Barcelona

Would you like to spend a sunny and relaxed day with your kids? This year the famous electronic festival of Barcelona, Sónar, will include a big funfair dedicated to kids & music: Sónar Kids. On Sunday 21st of June, the CCCB, Plaça dels Àngels and Plaça Joan Coromines will change their dance floors and organize games for children. But it´s not only play, they will actually have the opportunity to learn how to become a real musician from the biggest electronic artists !

For the bigger kids dj HD Substance will do a workshop showing how to play samplers with the mix table; and if they like to sing, they can learn weird beat box sounds with MarkoOz. For the dancers, the Unity Common Company will give a few classes to know the basics of hip hop with live music. Meanwhile, the parents can enjoy the art works of Mecànics, the exposition of SonarMàtica (the world´s first’s robot orchestra created by Roland Olbeter), the strange sound machines of Yuri Suzuki or the Reactable, among other things.

Between 10.30 and 20.00 there will be even more activities to enjoy and share. Jordi Labanda, the world famous Catalan drawer, will be there with all his colour material showing small children how not to get dirty! And throughout the day, there will be electronic music performances such as Laurent Garnier, Puppetmastz and the nationals MouseUp or Miqui Puig who will adapt their music for the children to enjoy.
