The Champions final in Barcelona!!

If you live in Barcelona, or just here for a visit, you have surely noticed that Barça is becoming kind of social event! The coach has won the Spanish League, the prestigious Copa del Rey, and tonight the team will play the Champions League final against Manchester United. Are you going to miss it?

More than 20.000 Barça fans (in Catalonia called ‘culés’) have these last weeks celebrated the triumphs at Canaletes, the mythic fountain located at Las Ramblas, just in front of the Plaça Catalunya square. People have previously gathered there for a huge party every time Barça has won the Champions. All the Barcelonans, from the younger Barça fans to older ‘culés’, having fun and celebrating on the streets until sunrise.

So if you are in the city, get ready to see Barcelona on its most crowded day! All the bars will show the match that starts at 8.45 pm and they will be full of people… hoping, suffering, shouting and living the match as if they were there in Rome, where it is played.

But the final will be tough! Manchester has this year won the Premier League and the Carling Cup, and is ready to do the ‘triplete’ as they say here; the three Cups that a European team can win in one football season. It will be a real challenge for both teams, which will compete with their best players: Manchester with Cristiano Ronaldo and Barça with Messi and Iniesta among others.

We will still have to wait until this evening to see it.

Until then… Visca Barça!
