This week Formula One arrives to Barcelona

In a few weeks the Formula 1, Gran Premio de España Telefónica 2009 starts in Catalonia. It is one of the races with more tradition in the championship. The best drivers in the world will compete in the Circuit of Montmeló, just a few miles from Barcelona. The circuit is considered to be one of the most modern Formula 1 installations.

The tournament started last month and arrives to Catalonia with the fifth race. At the moment the leader is still the Englishman Jenson Button from the Brawn-Mercedes Team, the team that also leads the team classification. Rubens Barrichello, from the same team, is in second place. RBR-Renault, with Sebastian Vettel in third place, is ranked second in the team championship.

The Montmeló Circuit with 289.248 miles (more than 66 laps) lies in a stadium where more than 14.500 people can enjoy this year´s spectacle from 8 to 10 of May.
