UNESCO World Heritage List of Barcelona

Since 1972 The UNESCO is working to protecting our heritage. On that date, when they adopted the Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage they were starting a huge work of conservation. World Heritage concept is universal. In this area UNESCO has classified and is still classifying 890 properties. To be included on the World Heritage List, sites must be of outstanding universal value.

In Spain, most of tourist spots are listed as World Heritage List, such as The Alhambra en Granada or the Lonja de la Seda in Valencia.
